Goals & Philosophy

Our goals & philosophy

Every Jewish child deserves a Jewish education.

JUDA gives the children of Brentwood and East Contra Costa a warm, lively place to discover who they are as Jews, and to love it.

✓Love Judaism and feel proud to be Jewish

✓Discover the Torah and Jewish history, and why it matters today

✓Understand Jewish practices and traditions

✓Live by Torah values and ethics

✓Experience every Jewish holiday hands-on

✓Read and write Hebrew with confidence

✓Know basic prayers and feel comfortable at services

✓Feel connected to Israel and its people

✓Ask big questions about G‑d, Torah and life, and be heard

“A child who loves Judaism’s teachings and traditions is better prepared for the moral challenges of today’s world.”

That’s why we make every class a joy: songs, games, crafts, drama, trips and family celebrations.

Kids learn in different ways, so each lesson reaches them through several.

Students experience what they learn: they see it, make it, taste it and act it out.

Drama, song, workbooks and Aleph Champ keep kids doing, not just listening.
